Is there any other name for a "Reverse Drop-set"
Is there another name for that:
Do 10 reps with 1 plate per side on the leg press, have your partner add another per side (10s rest), do 10 reps, etc. untill you can't complete the 10 reps anymore. (Doable on nearly any exercice).
Just wondering.

That's a pyramid...
A drop set is when you do one set to failure and then drop the weight just a little and do that to failure with no rest.
And you normally only do one set as a drop set and you usually do this at the end of all your sets.

Its not a pyramid though. A pyramid you drop the reps as you up the weight.
I was going to say it was stupid.

Yes but he is keeping the same reps. He is adding weight and keeping the same reps continuously, then stopping when he cant hit them.
Meaning that the first sets werent even close to challenging and were there for no reason. Which is why i said it was stupid.

I don't think there is a name for it, solely because not many people have/will do it. The reason for it not being implemented very often is clear.....it is silly. The purpose of a drop set is to further fatigue the muscle after performing reps with a sub maximal load (normally around 80% 1RM), I really cba sitting here explaining it all to you but that isn't a great idea. If you are trying to slam yourself just do normal drop sets or decrease rest times inbetween normal sets

its called a reverse drop set. and for all the haters, it can be pretty awesome and brutal! especially when followed immediately be a normal drop set back down.

Whats the point of the beginning sets when you arent even challenging yourself? I get drop sets because you are really pushing yourself. I get pyramids for the same reason. This i dont, why push a weight for 10 reps when you could do it for 30 (for example).

The beginning "sets" can add some TUT and begin to tire out the muscle before you hit the heavy weight. It cuts down on overload but it's not a dumb idea altogether.

Indeed. For the first few sets, you use the best form possible and move down the light way in the most controlled manner. The first sets build up lactic acid to the point where you usually end up the whole thing with a weight you can normally do 25+ times fresh. While it may seems totally useless when based on the normals criteras of a strenght/mass routine, it is quite usefull when doing occlusion training.

If you do the adding of weights from light (whatever that is) to heavy (all relative) and then reverse it, it's called "railroading." (Choo choo!) That technique's been around for at least fifty years--maybe more, and it is really for more advanced lifters.
