Leg press - is this dangerous
Most leg presses have projecting metal as an emergency stop if you cant press the weight. This model only has springs not shown in the photo. There are two of this model at my gym, one of them doesn't even have springs.
Is this too dangerous to use?

Try sitting in the bottom position without much weight on it. If it doesnt crush you then you are fine. I know the two leg presses i have used in the last year, i could go all the way down and bottom out and be just fine, but maybe im more flexible than others...

I wonder about these things...
Yesterday, I was doing Legs, I was on the Leg Press and I couldn't push the weight back up to lock it towards the end of my set. So I had to use my hands to push my legs up far enough to lock the weight. I got kind of scared before I decided to use my hands. Didn't know what to do.

Seriously, i think all leg presses are made so that most people can sit in it when its all the way down and not be crushed to death.

Yeah, there would probably be a lot more lawsuits if the weight nearly all the way down to the seat.

every leg press ive used only goes down so low, if youre really big and tall and have no flexibility it can somewhat crush you but for most even with it completely down you should be able to squeeze out (if theres no safety peg or wtv its called on the machine)

When you get up into the really high weights on leg press, you should already be familiar with what your legs can and can't handle. Also, if you have to use your hands a little to cheat on the last rep...it's ok.
