Gaining muscle and staying lean

Hey guys. Well I'm a skinny guy (135lbs) and have one year of high school left. I play basketball so that interferes with my working out, but at the beginning of 2010 I plan to start working out hard. I am working out this summer but will stop about October. Anyway I am going to do Army ROTC all 4 years of college and commission as an officer. ROTC requires 3-5 PT sessions a week which is mostly pushups/situps/running/ect. I also want to get big while retaining my high stamina level. What is the best way to achieve this? WSFSB? That's what i am planning on.

Thanks

Your title is very misleading compared to your actual post.

If you indeed want to gain muscle and stay lean, which is possible, you need to eat about 300 calories above your maintenance level. Your maintenance intake is roughly your body weight x 12 in calories.

Add around 400 calories to that, and consume that much every day. Pair it up with cardio, don't worry about what they tell you that cardio is counterproductive on a bulk, that is bullshat.

Eat clean foods, make every calorie be a beneficial nutritional calorie, not sugar and grease.

Get your protein intake straight, pair it up with carbs every time (oats, I make oatmeal and put 2 scoops protein instead of making shakes with milk), 1g protein per lb of body weight is a good measure to cover you, even though it is an overkill in reality, still do it to ensure maximum results.

Don't forget amino acids and omega 3 fats, get fishoil, and if you have the money, buy Xtend by Scivation. For Whey protein, buy Scivation whey. You will not regret the money, believe you me.

Good luck broski!
