Unhappy I'm bored with training my chest! Ideas wanted!

Hello fellow female bodybuilders and iron athletes: I have decided to admit that I'm bored of training my chest. That's not to say I'm going to stop (!) but I was hoping for some input to help throw some pizzazz back into this concept--training the lovely pectorals!

And it's not as though I don't change around my routines and exercises and whatnot (I even changed my split for an entire macrocycle), I'm just BORED of training my chest! Does that make any sense? Anyone else ever experienced this?

So... any thoughts?

Different almost every time. I truly get bored very quickly of one routine... I'm like those women in the bodybuilding books from the 80s that talk about "muscle confusion" to the max, every workout's different. Although my grab-bag of regular exercises includes:

Bench press (flat, incline)
Dumbell press (flat, incline, decline)
DB flyes (flat, incline, decline)
Pec-deck/machine flyes
Cable crossovers (one-arm version, I don't actually have a crossover machine in my gym!)
Isometric pec contractions
Push-ups (various angles of foot elevation)
BOSU ball push-ups
DB pullovers (I consider this a half-pec/half-lat exercise)
Dips between chairs (haven't broken any yet!)
...

EDIT: And in anticipation of others' comments, I am not bored with training my other body parts. Just chest! Presently I am training chest with back and abs, 2x per week. Goal: Mass. The rep range will change in a week or so when I train for limit strength again.

I like the idea of trying out the static holds. Thank you, kimm4. Reps to you!

I blame this entirely on not having a cable station where you can use both arms.

Every time I do cross overs I feel like the incredible hulk and thus I never get bored.

Seems like you are overtraining them. Pick a few exercises(3-4) and train 3 sets of 8-10 reps and train chest 1x week. That should reduce your boredom and show results with a good clean diet, which will probably make you look forward to chest day!

Hmm, I'd drop the Bosu ball on push-ups, and everything else, unless you have an uncommon need for stability.

Do you have an assisted dip-machine at your gym? Give these a try until you can do them on regular dip bars, unassisted.

Following is the static contraction info...

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/sisco6.htm

You could also try plyo-push-ups, transfer push-ups with a medicine ball or step, kettle bell push-ups.

Haha, I don't do all those exercises in one session!! They're the ones I rotate!

Generally speaking, training a bodypart just once a week allows for detraining between workouts. Twice is ideal for most clients training for mass and strength over an extended period of time. But thank you for the suggestions. Reps to you!
