Best source for standard plates?

I am looking to build some pro-style dumbells and need to find a source for plates. I have been watching craigslist for quite a while and have had no luck. Are there any major stores that I could walk into and buy some reasonably priced 5 and 10 pound pancake plates?

You need to check who sells equipment in your area. Sports authority, Dicks or who ever is the major sports chain out there. The specialty stores will have higher grade(but more expensive ones too)

I'm looking to add more pancake plates to my pro-style dumbells as well. Most standard plates are fatter than I need

Thanks, about all we have is Dicks around here and they don't appear to carry 5 pound.

If only you were closer. I have 455 lbs of standard weight I am trying to sell. I switched to olympic and all I use the standard weight now is for deadlifts.

Talk to the store manager. They sure as hell ought to carry 5# plates.

Try Play It Again Sports. They always seem to have the gray pancake plates in my area.
