A protein bar probably has a bit more calories depending on what kind you're talking about as opposed to a shake. However, some people add all sorts of stuff to their whey protein shakes. If you're on the go just get your protein in some way. I think lean beef jerky is always a good one if you have nothing else. Prepare in advance.

No, it isn't as good as a shake. The shake is liquid to increase the bioavailability of the protein and to make sure it is digested fast to get those much needed BCAAs to whatever muscle group you just worked. Add in the fact that most protein bars are nothing but stealth candy bars, they clearly are NOT the healthy choice.

Well the protien bars i got have:
180 Calories
17g of carbs
2g of sugar
20g of protien
i think they're better then having a regular sized snickers bar, i do relized you said "MOST PROTIEN BARS", i think that i made the right choice when chooseing these.. and BTW thanks for the tips i'll def. switch back to the shakes.
have a little rep. :P

Some protein bars are alright. I still prefer a quality shake, more protein, better ingridients and it tastes much better.

If you're going to eat a protein bar on the go or post workout with other stuff, I would go with Clif Builder's Bars, I eat these. All natural ingredients, low GI (if you care about that), and delicious.

I've never had those Clif builder bars, gonna have to try one. They're not that great though in terms of protein to calorie ratio. I think the Met-Rx bars are the best for that with 32 grams of protein and 330 calories.

Yeah, I can vouch that Met-Rx Protein Plus Protein Bars (I used to eat Chocolate Chocolate Chunk) are pretty good tasting too. Prefer the Clif ones though, more substance to them, must be the double layer/crunch.
