He wasn't able to get a full training camp and do serious cardio while recovering from his back to back knee surgeries. He now is able to train at his full potential.
Take Chuck out of the equation, just look at how crisp his striking was, similiar to the Pride days, did you ever see Shogun in Pride?

The fight against Chuck was no indication that his ability to train @ 100% improved his poor conditioning. Like I said....it was a short, disappointing fight.
and, no, don't watch Pride. It's true Shogun may have kicked a$$ there but I am only basing my opinion on what I have seen in UFC.Last edited by Mootoch; 05-23-2009 at 10:01 PM.

Yeah man I was really disappointed about Serra. Since Machida won im on Cloud 9 right now. I'll prob grief over Serra's loss in a day or 2. It's just a shame that he lost due to lay and pray, especially when there was a really good case for him winning R3.
I agree which is why I personally say I'm disappointed as opposed too SERRA WAS ROBBED ****!
It's just rather heart breaking because Serra really gets no credit, and honestly there was a really good case for him winning (like you said coulda gone either way) and he lost due to the lamest tactic in MMA. It just sucks for the guy.Access the gun's off the earth axis

aka dry humped his way to victory in many peoples eyes.
I agree Hughes should have won the fight with how the scoring is supposed to be, but lets be honest. Hughes didn't do much of anything in the fight and the one time he had Serra's back he didn't do anything.
I don't like either Serra or Hughes so didn't really care, but I could see where one would say it was a Serra win. He did more damage and controlled Hughes in his guard.
