New to figure-east Texas
Hi all--I have just completed my first figure show in Minneapolis. I am actually looking for someone who may be figure competing around the end of October 2010 in the east Texas area. I don't know too many people in this area that compete and I am just trying to get in the loop here, so that I do not have to travel as far to show with people that I know. So, if you are training for a natural figure comp in the October time in 2010, give me a holler. I would like to meet people nearer my home in this sport.
Thanks---Heidi

I was just trying to get some in put from others since I do not know many here in Texas that show figure. I am planning to do one in Minneapolis November 10th and was looking for one a few weeks before that one. The Centeral Show Down looks like good timing. I am going to check out the site and we should stay in touch..5'11"?? I guess you are in a tall class ?
Going to check out the site and I will get back to you...Thanks--Heidi

i will be in the tallest class offered at the show. i am prepping right now for the Central Texas Showdown. Don't know much about the show. Going to use it as my qualifier for the November Nationals for 2009 and 2010. If my tendonitis doesn't hold me back, then I will step on the national scene to get my feet wet.

Yeah FAME should be a lot of fun, they get interaction with the competitors. Texas State might be bigger and a little more organized as in you get onstage then offstage.
It is over quick with all the diet you do for the contest.

i am just looking to qualify and those show dates work for my offseaon time. so we'll see what happens at Central Texas Showdown. With the FAME show, figure get to do a routine, so i am excited about that possibility. i keep checking in to see if the date is firm, but so far no changes on it. if not, then i will be in stafford competing. i look forward to seeing tougher competition and seeing how i stack up. which is why i want to jump into the nationals in november.

Where in E. Texas? I myself am down in E. Texas about twice a month and know a few gyms out there...may look into doing a competition there next year but I am aiming for my first show in Canada in April 2010.
I do know a couple figure competitors out in E. Texas as well. Depending on how far you are from Dallas there are often a TON of shows out here ranging from novice to pro shows.
www.npctexas.org should give you some ideas of the shows coming up.
