Well, your first mistake is thinking you need to change your training. Still lift heavy. What put the muscle there will also help keep it there.
As for dropping calories, make sure ot still be eating adequete protein and fat. If you aren't already using them, add fish oil for sure. shoot for 2-3 grams combine DHA/EPA per day.
Other than that, I'd see what progress comes with just the diet change for the first couple of weeks. After that, you can consider adding something to speed it up.

So you would do low reps in a cut cycle?? I mean it's not that I'm training really light, I'm just focusing on doing proper form and controlled movement!
how can I get 2-3 grams of DHA/EPA a day??

Well, I'm just saying don't think "high reps" are for cutting. You should still be using the rep ranges that got you to GROW. Don't think you magically need to change things now that you are cutting.
As for DHA/EPA, it depends on the concentration of your fish oil.
Regular fish oil as 180mg EPA and 120mg DHA in 1 gram. Therefore 6 grams of fish oil would have 1.8 grams combined EPA/DHA. At your weight, that should probably suffice.

cool thanks about the EPA/DHA info....now about the weight, I'll go back to doing the usual, the thing is that with less cals, it gets harder to lift heavy weight!

I thought that you were supposed to lift really heavy during a cut? Because supposedly it makes it so that your body knows why it needs those muscles.
