There are other products I would put ahead of BG in terms of importance, but it is a great non-hormonal product that would assist in your goals... Obviously you need to keep protein, BCAA's/EAA's esp. Leucine first, but once you take care of the essentials, you could do well with Blue Gene... I'm using it now in my sponsored log on a moderate cut which is soon going to have to get serious.

Sorry, I forgot to mention I'm on a cyclical keto diet. Basically no carbs.

Anabolic Pump for sure. It will help with weight loss by increasing AMPk and it will help you maintain strength, energy and muscle mass by increasing uptake of glucose and amino acids into muscle cells.
Blue Gene, Activate Xtreme, Prime, Mass FX are other ones to look into.USPlabs Representative. Alpha Manlet.
Deadlift: 525 lbs at 164 lb body weight. No straps. 3.2 x bw.
Squat: 260 lbs x 15 reps to parallel at 164 body weight. No belt. No wraps.
Dumbbell Bench Press: 100 lb dumbbells x 14 reps at 164 lb body weight.

Your pre, intra, and post workout nutrition plays a critical roll in this. Obviously whey protein post and a good source of fast absorbing carbohydrates for your post workout nutrition.
Tried and true. BCAA's. Sip on a high dose of these bad boys starting 15 minutes prior to training and then sip on them throughout the entire workout. The higher the dose of Leucine, and the greater the ratio of Leucine to Iso-leucine and Valine, the better (as shown in all the research).
Creatine is another strong supplement that has shown to maintain lean muscle mass while cutting.

On another forum people recommended X-factor and IGF-2. Does anyone know anything about IGF-2 by Applied Nutriceuticals

From personal experience, I'd really keep this as simple as possible and roll with a solid BCAA formula.
If you look at a competitive bodybuilders getting ready for a show, BCAA's are a prime staple in his/her precontest supplement program to help maintain lean mass. They're not using IGF-2, X-factor, etc. Just trying to keep things real. I've used mega-dosed BCAA's now twice in pre-contest and they make a WORLD of difference when cutting that transcends far beyond just maintaining lean mass. they really help to keep your endurance and stamina levels high when you're one a low calorie diet.Last edited by Biceps; 05-21-2009 at 03:20 PM.

Well obviously someone such as yourself, with that cutting/competitive experience can def. walk the walk so to speak... this is likely a great time when supplements like the BCAA/EAA's really make a difference and have a turn to shine... Leucine is pretty magical in being able to initiate protein synthesis with just 3-5g dosings and can really provide great benefits even on a low cal diet.
