LOTS of calories+LOTS of cardio=win?
Instead of clean bulking with a moderate caloric surplus and moderate to low cardio, how about a large caloric surplus (clean foods) and lots of cardio (5-7 times a week, 2-3 being HIIT).....and intense weight-training sessions 4-5 times a week.
So your keeping VERY active (therefore burning lots of calories) but still providing your body with LOTS of nutrients....make sense?
Wouldn't this be the best way to bulk? Maximizing insulin sensitivy and eating alot which would optimize thyroid function....?

I say this because I ENJOY how I feel throughout the week when I do lots of intense cardio, and I just ****ing love lots of clean food.

Assuming you can get enough calories then it would be fine. Although youd have to be eating a ****load of food.
You also want to make sure youre not overtraining by doing cardio everyday with some days also weight lifting

I train 5 days a week, and have rugby 2x a week (so thats 2 HIITS done)....i'd throw another in and the rest of the days do low(ish) intensity cardio? So I'm doing cardio basically every day.
It wouldn't be the easiest route to go, but I'd think it would yield good results...

Calories:
Carbs would have to be moderate as activity level is high. But I wouln't go crazy with them because I'm an endo and it wouldn't go down well. So about 200-300g a day. Maybe a lil more. And all clean, and at the right time (breakfast, pre/post).
I'd keep fats AT LEAST 30% of total calories. Lots of fish oil and "good fats", but some fatty steaks and eggs thrown in too. Olive oil, etc...
Protein: I don't like ODing on protein as the body just converts the excess into carbs. So 1g-1.5g per pound bodyweight? Maybe a lil more. Should be plenty.

Nice. 4 days sounds even better! And moderate cardio for the rest? Thats something I could actually enjoy.
Supps:
I was thinking of taking lots of chromium/ALA to help with nutrient partitioning. This would keep insulin sensitivity up (as would physical work).
Oh yeah...

i just do this cause i was fat before, 210lbs (purefatball), i lost fat too fast in like 3 months and dropped down to like 160lbs. and still i wasnt ripped like ripped. all i had was like 4 packs lol, and a nasty love handle. i tried as much as i can, but nothing worked. i tried going for 2 weeks with eating nasty amounts of food, like 10k calories/day, and i did not gain that much fat. nothing visible in mirror or scale. so i just decided to bulk yup ( more like since i changed my goals from being a phaggot model to becoming a pro bodybuilder like flex wheeler, hopefully, someday) and since when i finish the bulk, ill have alot more muscles, the cutting will be easier.
You should know how your body works, try couple of weeks and see. for some people this may lead to awesome gains. for others, it will add more fat than muscle.

Have always wondered this myself. I think you may be right - better to use and eat more to get the same surplus. Only worry that the cardio might negatively impact muscle recovery (and thus building). Would love to hear answers from experts.

Sure if your parents can afford it, I do not do much cardio but still get through more food than my brother and sister put together! (Cost wise)

its not really alot, its just that, your body will get used to it, all the music will become boring, first 10 minutes of cardio will become suffering, in time. cardio atm bores me to death, unless its HIIT, i cant do 5 minutes.

i do basically what you do except no HIIT. I have a stapled diet for six days of the week and on friday or saturday when I go out, I just pig like tomorrow's gonna end at wherever me and my friends go to eat.
im just addicted to moving and if i don't do at least 75 mins of aerobic exercise a day, I feel cruddy. It helps my sleep, my outlook on everything and my body/mind feels more fit and relaxed. It makes me gain mass very very very slowly but I don't really care. I'm just the kinda guy that likes to take everything easy as long as I'm not going backwards ya kno

True.....I was just interested in the fact that insulin sensitivity could be maximized this way. Nutrient partitioning would be awesome, no? And the high calories would allow for low cortisol and high amounts of optimal hormones.

it would all have minimal effects, just lift, and do cardio 1-3 times a week, and eat a lot

I think you'd be putting a lot of undue stress on your CNS, thus hurting gains. Just because your diet would have a strong surplus doesn't make your body impervious, the same rules still apply to you, they'd maybe just be delayed.

I think the only negative effect would be overtraining.

Ive been eating atleast 5k cals a day and doing HIIT 3 times a week and ive been getting killer gains. Calorie counting is overrated, just clean out your kitchen everyday. Weight lifting mon-fri.
