What did you have for dinner?
I need more ideas for dinners, so what did you have??
Tonight I had a nice pineapple chicken stir-fry with red and green bell peppers, zucchini, summer squash and mushrooms over a bed of brown rice. Tasty!

What was the flavor of the day? You ever have their fish sandwich? Really good if you eat it there, not so good if you take it home!

I ate poorly today, 2 polish sausage on rye sandwiches, with extra sharp cheddar and dijon mustard.... and a diet cola. Since I've been dieting for a few months, I completely lost my taste for sugary pop. I tried a standard Pepsi because it was all they had at this class I was taking, and I couldn't finish it, too sweet! I used to drink 3 or 4 a day!

Not much of a fish fan and the only ice cream I usually eat is from DQ (Heath Bizzard). I eat pretty healthy at home and worry more than I should about processed foods and unnatural fats, but when I eat out all bets are off...

Nope, Culvers. It's a fancier fast food joint (did I just say that). The food is pretty good but everything starts with a "B" which irritates me that I have to say "butter burger basket" in one form or another to get fed...

But you said deluxe butter burger basket...the deluxe breaks it up a bit.
White Tower has pretty good butter burgers too, but there's nothing even remotely fancy about them.

How about White Castle? Sliders FTW!!! LOL
jellodirt, I don't know how you can consider DQ ice cream better then the custard at Culvers. Around Thanksgiving they have a pumpkin shake that I would kill for, it alone accounts for 90% of my holiday weight gain!! Blizzards aren't bad, but the concrete shakes at Culvers are awesome!!

I haven't been to White Castle in years! But I do remember devouring sacks of those things. I'm sure they aren't as good now as I remember them being.

I wouldn't consider blizzards better as I haven't tested the custard, it's that I usually don't eat any desert after a meal and Culvers is about an hour drive for me so the only time we go there is to eat while shopping. I have eaten at White Castle though and I thought it was really gross. Their burgers are like little chunks of unsalty flavorless spam on a greasy little bun (sorry white castle fans).

My favorite off night dinner is what I call a "Jay Cutler Steak Stir Fry" which I got from one of his DVDs.
Take an 8 ounce lean steak( I prefer Eye O Round), trim the fat and cut into strips.
Heat sliced onions, peppers and a vegetable such as asparagus stalks or green beans in a skillet or frying pan on medium high heat for a couple of minutes, stirring once or twice, until they become tender.
Place the steak strips in the pan and heat these for 3-4 minutes on each side depending on the thickness of the strips.
Then toss the steak and peppers, onions, etc. for a couple of minutes.
Add soy sauce to the pan and toss the meat and vegetables again, coating them with the soy sauce.
Remove from heat, pour onto a plate and eat up!
Occasionally for added carbs, I will add a sliced boiled potato to the stir fry or eat a slice of Ezekiel bread with the meal.

I've been experimenting with curries. Tonight I will be making chicken curry. No, I do not use instant mixes.
