    Does Kielbasa come already cooked?

I walked to the grocery and picked up a couple of those "horseshoes" of Kielbasa and am curious how to prepare them. It looks as though it's already cooked but I can't be really sure as I've never used em before. Can I pan fry them? (I'm considering and omelet)

Technically, most of them are already cooked. However, they taste much better if you prepare them than if you just eat them out of the package.

No doubt best way to eat those things is on the grill. Sometimes I grill them plain sometimes I will let them soak all day in some time of marinade. If you have some shrimp you can slice them up small and throw them in a pot of boiling shrimp with some Old Bay Seasoning. I only eat fresh shrimp though, I live at the beach so I have access to them. My mouth is watering right now thinking of it.

Also get the turkey not the regular beef/pork. Lots less fat and they taste the same.

This. My girlfriend is Polish so I'm always eating the stuff. I think most name brand American prepackaged keilbasa is not cooked though. If you get it from a deli, you'll have to ask...

Most smoked sausages are precooked to some degree.

However, when you buy smoked sausages there are two official FDA designation...The smoked sausage is either "fully cooked" or "partially cooked".

Hillshire Kielbasa is fully cooked which means it as heated to at least 160F and can be safely eaten straight out of the package.
