Gyno Related Questions.
Since we are seeing alot gyno threads lately, i decided to make this thread to provide informations for teens who may or may not suffer from Gynecomastia. Although am sure they will keep making threads and ignore this one.
Gyno Related Questions.
What is Gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is the development of abnormally large mammary glands in males resulting in breast enlargement. In adolescent boys the condition is often a source of distress, but for the large majority of boys whose pubescent gynecomastia is not due to obesity, the breast development shrinks or disappears within a couple of years. The common cause is usually the excess of the female hormone estrogen or a lack of testosterone, a male hormone. It occurs in babies, teen boys, and older men.
What causes Gynecomastia?
In newborns, gynecomastia is caused by estrogen from the mother. It usually goes away in 2 to 3 weeks after birth.
In teen boys, gynecomastia is caused by the hormonal changes of puberty. About one-third of 13- and 14-year-old boys are affected.
In pre-teen boys, gynecomastia is very rare. In a few cases, it has been linked to regular use of lavender or tea tree oil in certain lotions or oils.1 Gynecomastia can also be caused by an estrogen-producing tumor.
When gynecomastia occurs in adult males, it is usually caused by another condition, such as liver or lung cancer, cirrhosis of the liver, overactive thyroid, or by hormone problems, such as cancer of the pituitary gland, adrenal glands, or testicles. Alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamine, and heroin use also may cause gynecomastia.
Use of certain medicines may also cause gynecomastia, including:
1. Steroids.
2. Medicines used to treat ulcers (such as cimetidine).
3. Medicines used to treat epilepsy (such as phenytoin [Dilantin]).
4. Digitalis and other heart medicines.
5. Chemotherapy drugs, especially alkylating agents, a family of anticancer drugs that interfere with cell DNA and inhibit cancer cell growth.
6. Antiandrogen drugs (such as flutamide, cyproterone, and spironolactone).
7. Antianxiety and antidepressant medicines (such as diazepam [Valium] and tricyclic antidepressants).
8. Products containing tea tree oil or lavender oil.
How do I know if I have gyno?
If you have developed gyno you will have a lump behind your nipple. It will be fairly hard, and it will be tender to touch.
Use this to differentiate between FAT and ACTUAL gyno. if u just find fat, it is NOT gyno, if u find a lump, even if it is small, something like a ball, may be kinda soft sometimes if it is newly developped, then you have gyno.
OMFG I HAS GYNO WAT 2 DU?
Gynecomastia in babies and teens normally does not require treatment and will usually resolve on its own. If caused by medicine or disease, stopping the medicine or treating the disease will often cure the gynecomastia. If caused by a lack of testosterone and increase in estrogen, hormonal treatment may be prescribed.
Okay .. Say you have a gyno which aint gonna go away. depending on how big is your gyno if it is really big, like real breasts ( i doubt this would normally happen, but happens sometimes ) then the only way to get rid of it is gyno surgery. the surgery costs around 2000~3000$. if it is a small lump, it usually goes away in time.
Lets say you are a stupid teenager who use steroids ( i dont think you are stupid if u educate urself, but most of this section does. )
Prevention is always better! Not preventing these problems would be like not wearing a condom, and then getting AIDS, and treating it! Its always best to prevent problems before they occur! (Line by WarMachine)
How to prevent.
SERM : Selective estrogen receptor modulator. These drugs work by binding to the estrogen receptors and flooding them in a sense, making it difficult (but not impossible by any means) for estrogen to bind to the receptors and thus prevent the onset of estrogen related side effects.
Most common forms: Tamoxifen (Nolvadex), Clomiphene (Clomid)
AI : Aromatise Inhibitor. These drugs work by inhibiting the aromatization of estrogen. This means that in effect AI?s prevent androgens from converting to estrogen, again, making it difficult (but not impossible) for estrogen to reach receptor sites.
Most common forms: Anastrozole (l-dex, a-dex), Exemestane (aromasin), Femera (letrozole).
SERMs Would prevent Estrogen related side effects, Like GYNO. so usage of a SERM is really important, i dont recommend using an AI, because they completely remove estorgen out of your system( like up to 90%). Estorgen is not that bad, Estrogen helps with glycogen storage in muscle, it increase HDL, Have a good effect on Central Nervous system, and anabolic to an instant, also increase GH output, and tenders joints. if you use AI, you will have itchy joints, lose ur libdo, you may suffer from heart disease, and so.
Under any condition, you shouldnt use steroids if your growth plates are still not fused.. if you do, then you really are stupid, growth plates are like first sign that your body finished growing, and you are stunting your growth for couple of lbs of muscle, cauze i bet if you use them before they are stunted, then you didnt educate yourself enough, and you wont get the best results out of the cycle.
Some People like to use SERMS like nolvadex just like supplements to encounter estrogen related side effects, only downside is the Estrogen rebound after you stop using it.
Hope this helps? if you see anything that needs editing please tell me. :]

I had that as well. Mine were painful to touch for around a year, it started when I was 12 I think, went away when I was 13.

low testosterone can cauze high estrogen( i think, i.e estrogen becoming dominant so low testosterone) , and same for high testosterone due to aromatise..

@Bally, if there is no "Lump" under the nipple, regardless soft or hard (mostly hard tho) then you dont have gyno. its just fat. and i checked your picture btw, definitly not gyno.
@haykohopar, if u used to be fat, u can developp gyno cauze extra fat cells = extra aromatise = more estrogen, but i think that happens in really really fat people, not like around 20~25% fat people.. i think its just excess fat left from that time u were fat. but then, pubrity is here, so check the LUMP, have it, u have gyno, dont u dont. but anyway it will mostly go away by itself.

@AfterArnold what tribulus do is that it leads to increased production of the luteinizing hormone (LH). When LH levels are increased, the natural production of testosterone also increases. This wont fix already occuring gyno, but may help prevent more in somehow, if you are in case of low testosterone.
@MegaHold, i think it is gyno .. but i dont think it is that bad, just give it some time, keep adding mass to ur chest. if it dont go by time u are 20, maybe surgery would be needed.
