I am training for the Marines and am on a pretty rigorous running schedule in an attempt to ace my fitness test. Here's what my present workout looks like:
Mon, Wed, Fri
3 miles
5x25 pushups
5x5 pullups
5x25 situps
4x15 dips
Distance increases by 10% each week, Pushups and situps by 5 each, pullups by 2 each set, and dips are increased when able.
I was wanting to know if I could throw in a lifting program Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday in order to maintain and maybe increase my current mass without worry of overtraining my body. If this is possible is there a certain workout you would recommend? I was thinking a three day Legs Push Pull Workout.
Will Rep for advice.
Thanks

"Work Hard, Play Hard"
The Fear of Failure is What Drives Me
My MAIN goal is to achieve a Perfect 300 Score On My PFT:
18 min flat 3 mile- I'm at 22:30 min now
30 Pull Ups with perfect form- I'm at 21 pullups
110 Crunches in 2 min- I'm at 100 crunches in 2 min

Yea I was thinking that low volume would be the only option. I would hate to lose muscle though. Was wanting to keep power cleans and deadlifts in the mix

I am planning to add in more running days but when my distance gets up there. I'm only adding plus ten percent each week to avoid injury. I was wondering if I could safely incorporate a regular workout routine without regard to the PFT routine MWF. Just do them both since the PFT routine is with body weight exercises
