Some people prefer post-w/o as creatine will pull water from the GI tract into the stomach causing GI distress during a workout for some.

Question about mixing creatine monohydrate with my post workout shake.

I'm a type 2 diabetic, so I'd prefer NOT to use dextrose, or any other high GI carb source when taking creatine.

I was wondering if it would still be effective if I added it to my post workout shake which consists of either 8 oz of water or 1% milk, 1.5 scoops of either Gaspari Vanilla Myofusion, or Vanilla IntraPro protein (abt 35-40 grams of protein) and approx 3/4 cup of frozen blueberries? (I like my shakes nice and thick.)

I figure the fructose from the blueberries, although still rather high on the G.I. range, is "better" for me being a diabetic being that it's a "natural" sugar, and would still provide the same benefits combined with the creatine that a product like dextrose would.

I'd appreciate any thoughts and feedback on this.

    Thanks.

Yes. I do not use high GI carb sources in my shake, and have also used CrM successfully on a keto diet.
