    Weight of an EZ-Curl Bar.

What is the weight of a typical Olympic-style EZ-curl bar — by itself, when it is not loaded? (I'm talking about the bars that are about four feet long, require weight plates to be added, and have curves for more comfortable handling during, say, barbell curl exercises.)

Big variations in weight depending on the bar and collars used. Weight it with collars, or make an assumption to use as a reference. Could be up to 25 lb. or more.

I suspect the ones in my gym are 25 lbs. It's odd that I can't find any websites that specifically state the weight of such a bar. I checked with the Iron Grip and Ivanko sites and neither of them seem to be specific about this issue, as far as I found.

Mine is 15 pounds, if you work out at home or anywhere near a scale just weigh yourself, than grab the bar, weigh yourself again and the difference between the two is your bar.

Only a standard olympic bar is certain, at around 45 lb.

All other bars would have to be weighed with collars. Stand on a scale with the bar/collars, then find the difference from just your bodyweight.

My EZ bar is 20 pounds with collars. Most Oly bars are 45 pounds, though I use a shorter one in my home gym that is 35 pounds.

Only thing to do is weigh the bar itself.

You do realize that you replied to an 8+ year old thread?

The topic of this thread is addressed in the FAQ:

Q: "How much does my bar weigh?"
A: They make these things called scales... failing that most "good" bars are going to weigh between 41 and 44 pounds. Competition bars are always going to weigh 44 pounds. The bar you got in that weight set from sears or you local sporting goods store most likely only weighs about 30-40 pounds. EZ Curl cambered bars weigh between 15-25lbs, the better ones are closest to 25.

You can take half of the weight and multiply it by 2 to get the entire weight.
