    Should I do more or less reps for Stabilizer Muscles?

    what is the ideal number of reps and sets to target the stabilizer muscles? more reps with less weight, or less reps more weight?
    for example

    20x 100 bench press or 10x 150 bench press

    I am using dumbells BTW, which I heard is better than barbell for Stalilzer muscles.

    no such thing as a seperate group of "stabilizer" muscles. as long as your workout is evenly split you are going to strengthen all the muscles that help stabilize other lifts. example: working out your your lats shoulders and rear delts will help you stabilize your bench press. if this is wrong someone let me know but i believe this is how it goes

    thanks, but i think stabilizer muscles are the minor muscles, not the major ones like triceps lats delts etc. the minor ones ones as in the many very small ones supporting the major one. however, i do know that lats and other back muscles play a major role in stabilizing in general. correct me if i'm wrong.

    wow- you can tell by reading that that you are definately 15. no offense. id use a high enough weight that you are forced to activate stabilizers, buit not rediculous. aim for about the 10 rep. range.

    id use a bb as well as db's. you'll notice the stabilizer muscles(or stabilizing characteristics of larger muscles)(not sure which is correct)-on the bench press, as long as you arent using a smith machine.
