depends where you live for size of partys. the average one around here ranges from 20-40 people. hardly ever a 10-20 person party. the big ones only happen every odd time and to us it is around 60 people and 40+ all jam in the basement... gets a lil crowded. Your not missing to much but when you get to college just dont over drink your first time(assuming you dont drink much).
