Eightpak's Golden Gains Review

First off, big thanks to PT and Controlled labs for sending me a tub to test out. I have used the product a few times and really got a chance to evaluate the taste and quality of the product.

Taste: Not bad. Nice and tart, really gives those taste buds a jolt. Definitely tastes like a sweet and tart apple pie. I have only tried it in water, but milk may be a little more mellow. Thinking about throwing in some oats for some extra carbs and possibly to tone down the flavor, especially at 2 scoops.

Mixibilty: Mixes quite nice. Threw it in a shaker cup, added water and dissolved right up. No chunks.

Profile: This is one of the best parts I believe. Love the profile on this. Great source of carbs post workout. Excellent high quality protein for fast absorption, and the fruit complex is insane as well for antioxidants post training.

Gains: Have only been taking it a few workouts and I'm cutting so I can't comment here.

Overall: 9/10 for a post workout recovery drink. Really enjoy it a lot. Thanks again controlled labs for putting out quality products and giving your customers a chance to test them, proving how much you guys believe in the products as well.

I hear ya. Thats exactly how I feel. I was really surprised when I saw that Fruit/Veggie complex in their. Really puts the product a step ahead of others IMO.

Ok just felt the need to post a little update after using the entire tun of Golden Gains. I was back in AZ the entire summer and left the remainder of the GG at home so I just managed to finish it off not too long ago but I still feel the need to comment on this product. At first I really liked the product but it took a little getting used to. Had a little tangy flavor to it and I've never really had an apple flavored shake before. The more I used the product though, the more I CRAVED it, especially after a brutal workout, almost addicting. It was just so refreshing and helped replenish me within minutes of use. I know its weird, going from: "eh the product was pretty good" to "dang I'm almost out, what am I going to do without my Golden Gains."

Seriously if your looking for a post-workout formula that's reasonably prices with a SOLID profile, you have to give GG a try. You will love it.

I now drink all my shakes in egg whites (no longer get any runs or become hungry an hr after a shake)

I am interested in how this flavor would taste in whites, in water it does taste good for sure.

I bet it would be good. For some reason all shakes taste better in liquid egg whites. I start every morning with a scoop of protein in 1 cup liquid egg whites, and a bowl of cereal or oats. Breakfast of Champions.

thanks for the update. the profile is unlike anything else out there. hope the word gets out a bit more
