When you break up with someone that you've been with for 4+ years, even with things being bad, is it unusual to still miss that person?

Its normal. You need to enjoy being single and tap some random poon now to help the healing process. Then you can move on to another relationship if you want. Do not get in another relationship for awhile or get back with your ex.

List things you hated about her, the bad things, the annoying things.
This will help you get over her faster because you'll realize you're better off without her.

its normal man..i miss my ex girlfriend of 3 years..but you just gotta remember it obviously wasnt going to work out/meant to work out and be happy that you had a good relationship but enjoy being single now..i thought i didnt learn anything form being with my ex for 3 years, but i actually learned a lot and am happy

depending on the relationship I disagree. If its a very short list and she made a mistake than your method seems to be counter productive, if you know what I mean.
OP it sucks, 6 months later for me and it still hurts like a bitch. Only thing you can do is try to move forward and hope it hurts less as time goes on.
