I've just decided to start bodybuilding and I keep hear how great creatine and creatine-like products are and how well they help you in your work out. But what should happen is I one day decided to stop taking it? Years from now if not sooner I decide not to take anymore and but I continue to work out regularly, will it have any type of affect on my body? I mean I'm sure I won't have the same strength as I did before are there any other affect of now longer having it in my system? I'm sorry if this sounds kind of dumb but I'm just starting and I don't want to have any regrets in what I do or take.

If you are just starting you can't judge how effective a supplement is as you have nothing to go by, you need to do some training and eating before you start worrying about creatine or anything else (just take your vitamins). Cell tech by the way is overpriced crap.

first off try working out for at least 4 - 6 weeks with no suppliments other than multi vit. At the same time steadily increase your intake of food, and I mean healthy food (some where like around (4000++ calories should be god enough, thou. I personally take around 55 calories). FOOD is 80 percent of the game, and don't let anyone tell you diffrent.
Than after your body has had its 4-6 week intro. to working out and good healthy steady diet, than add creatine and anyother suppliment you want. BUT MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH......and cell tech ain't good at all, so I know you didn't research it :P
If you need help ask anyone in here Bigcat and others with 1000++ posts are always good people to ask.
Good Luck.....Intensity is the Game...

Welcome LetTheVenomFlow. I started bodybuilding last summer after I lost 52 pounds. I can't believe how great I feel now. Anyway, those last couple posts were good advice. There's no need to start taking a bunch of supps at this stage. You'll be surprised how fast your body will respond if you just start eating smart and jacking up the calories, taking a good multivitamin and get a lot of rest (8 hours/day).
To answer your Q, Creatine is not a miracle supp. It simply inflates your muscle cells which makes the muscles bigger. We all know bigger muscles can lift more weight. There is something to be said regarding increased protein synthesis from creatine supplementation but that's a frickin long and compex explanation. Ya, creatine will help you make gains a little quicker but it's not a nessecity. Most people who use creatine (or other supps for that matter) do so to help them get past a plateau they are stuck at. Although, once you really get into training you may find that your gains are just not coming as fast as you want, thus the choice for supplementation. And once you start supplementing you may also find that you like the results and look for other supps to help you grow even faster. That's when you really need to research what you are going to take because there are a ****load of supps and companies that flat out lie just to get your $. So, just take the advice that has been given, hang out at BB.com and start learning from other expirienced bodybuilders. Once you are a bit educated on the topic and the supps available then you can take the next step to supplementation.
