Newbie on a mission who needs help

I have been hitting the gym for 12 weeks and I am down 17lbs so far I have 23 more to go-

almost 3 weeks ago I started a meal plan to help me lose more weight-
only complex carbs original oatmeal, sweet potato, and brown rice, lean meat, green vegetables, no sugar, all types of berries, no dairy, no bread- Protein Shakes with low carbs and Protein Bars with low carbs as well.

I haven't seen a drop in the scale yet- am I not eating correctly-

I go to the gym 4-5 days a week- Weight training 4 days and cardio on 5 days-

I am getting stronger and able to see and feel my muscles when I flex and I am probably losing inches which is great but I want the scale to drop to.

My coworker has already competed in her first figure contest and would like me to compete next year but I need to lose weight first then focus on cutting my fat %. I am very interested in body building and figure-

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Pain is weakness leaving the body-

    Tired of being chunky buns

How many calories are you eating a day? That might have something to do with it. I use websites like fitday.com or nutridiary.com to track exactly how many calories I'm eating per day. So track yourself and see what the scale does - maybe for a week or two weeks. Then make slight adjustments.

    Good luck!
Hi, my name is Ellen, and I'm a peanut butter addict...

I do this because I can. I can because I want to. I want to because you said I couldn't.

    Where are the good fats?

You've done great so far! 17 pounds in 12 weeks is pretty fast. No need to speed things up and lose muscle mass along the way.
