This question is for anyone that lives outside the U.S. but specifically England. I was wondering how the American Revolutionary War is viewed in your culture. I'm wondering how it is taught in the schools most specifically but a general view of the population is fine also. If anyone lives in Ireland, Wales or Scotland that's fine too. I don't know how the school systems are over there and what the differences would be from place to place.
Any other places feel free to answer also.
In U.S., generally we are taught American and European history. Almost forgot, here the Rev. War is taught as a "rise against oppressors" "no taxation without representation" that kind of stuff.

England won't talk about it.
They just say "That nasty business with the colonies."
It's not a big deal.

I know how its viewed in America and its luls. I think Americans need to understand what sort of degenerate stock they came from.
We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France,
we shall fight on the seas and oceans,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender

They probably feel some connection, but also something they lost and will never return.
Facts and common sense defeats ignorance and drama.
