    6 Days Low Carb & 1 Day High Carb

    I just need some opinions on this: when leaning out do low carb for 6 days and 1 day up the carb fairly high but still stick with quality complex carbs? i know every body is different and there body will respond differently but i just need an opinion if i should waste my time trying it or not?

    This is a keto diet. It works great for many people, and yet others can't follow through with it.

    the 'low carb' and keto ive tried, and dislike a great deal

    I keep them carbs low to moderate all week and one day may have slight increase by 50-100 grams at most - the rest of the week Im keeping them about 30% of ratio vs 50-60% on one higher carb day but never go as low at 50 g/day, i just dont like it and dont see benefit for myself

    I've been doing about no more than 100g of complex carbs total a day for 3 days and 1 day i'll have an unlimited carb meal with little protein and low fat, and i've been doing it for 4 weeks, and do not like it at all.... it was much easier cutting down when eating a more properly balanced diet day in and day out, and I felt more satisfied.

    That's my 2 cents.

    personally when i started my diet...the first two weeks was straight low carb..for me that was 100g a day...then the monday after those two weeks...i bumped it up to 250g...that week i lost 3 pounds...versus 2 pounds the previous weeks....now i refeed every 8-10 days...but since im getting closer to my comp i will prolly have to start doing it twice a week to keep my metabolism up....having a carb up day is essential imo...boosts ur metabolism...may be bloated the next day but the weight will fall off in the coming days....

    On a cut, I have 100g of carbs on non-lifting days and 200g of carbs on lifting days. I've found this very easy to lose weight and not feel fatigue.

    as others have said, that's basically the keto diet in a nutshell. at the top of the nutrition forum, there's three links for different keto stuff.

    and keto is really based on your lifestyle and if you enjoy the foods on it. i was only on it for three weeks before i got completely sick of eating nothing but meat, cheese, eggs, ect. i saw solid fat loss on it, tho. so if it fits how you enjoy to eat, then go for it.

    for me...keto is the best thing ever. I seem to get bloated something awful from carbs/dairy especially, so keto cuts down on that. For losing weight, keto is the best at least for me.

    I love low-carb, I thrive on these types of diets. But others are miserable.

    Try carb Cycling

    I use a Carb Cycling Diet. My carbohydrate intakes go from 300g on high days, 200g on medium days, and 100g on low days. The type of workout day determines which amount of carbs i will intake for the day.
    Legs and back = high-300
    Chest = medium-200
    Arms= Low-100
    Protein is always between 200-300g and i keep my fat intake at around 50g/day.
