hey everyone. i'm doing my chest max for dumbbells in about 2 hours. what approach should i take. is this okay?
-50 pounders- 10 reps
-60 - 10 reps
-70 - 6 reps (can do more)
-80 - 4 reps (can do more)
-90 - 2 reps (can do more)
skip 95
-100 - goin' for 1!

its just intimidating to me. i never thought i could bench the 100's. i think its just all in my head. but yeah i plan on dominating the 100's

Iron isn't intimidating - either you can lift it, or you can't and you drop the weight and work from there. Not like it's going to bite you or slice your fingers off if you can't get 1 rep up.Originally Posted by tomdip5

First set is the easiest, go for 100 on your first set IMO. AFTER a little warm-up set at about 50% max first of course.

thats why its called a MAX, i usually do more reps, but today i'm MAXing, because i've been building up to it for a while now
