Feeling muscle fibers "rip" during deadlifts

I have noticed this the past two times I deadlifted. On my second set today of 235, I could feel my muscle fibers "rip" in my arm. Around the tricep-back of elbow.

Is this normal? My arms were fine, I can move them fine, but I just want to make sure.

No this does not seem normal. Normal muscle tears are microscopic so you shoudn't be able to hear it rip. Doesn't sound good.

So did I injure myself then, because I don't feel anything and I can go through all the motions fine...

Is it because I didn't stretch before? I do my exercises cold turkey.

You should probably start warming up before you lift.

This. BUT DONT STRETCH. Static stretching has been shown to decrease performance.

I warm up for my smith squats (no power rack/squat rack) and bench.

IDK, it's just so hard to get weights on and off of a barbell... laziness, but yeah I guess I should start warming up...

possibly... someone from another forum suggested maybe my arms aren't completely straight.

I want to get someone to tape me doing my exercises at the gym, but it would be awkward if my parents came in and taped me with everyone else watching...

the only thing that would possibly be wrong with my deadlift is if my back is slightly rounded. It's hard to stick your chest out a little, when Rippetoe says to tuck your butt very high...

    I definitely heard rips though.

Try looking over the top of your head behind you, you naturally go into the butt out chest out position, quite similiar to deadlift.

if your interested the way you describe it, it could be cartilage popping/cracking nothing wrong with it but i doubt its your muscle. Seen a video on youtube where happens to a guy and he says it.
