How clean is your Mass Phase diet?
I'm 40 now. When I was 26 I could eat cheeseburgers and stay 9% as long as I lifted hard. Now, I'm trying to put on some serious size over the next few months. I eat big (4,000+ calories a day) but all very clean. (Lean meats, eggs, yams, brown rice, veggies, protein shakes, etc.) Anyone throw in some trash on occasion? I'm thinking pizza tonight! Comments?

Worth a try; you look pretty lean. Then again, you're the PT, not me.

Can't you tell when someone knows better and is simply looking for approval to be bad? Lie to me and tell me it's ok! ;-)

Pizza is a great bulking food, has plenty of carbs and sodium for water retention.. It will increase your size and strength overnight and become addicting!
P.S. my favorite is NY style... enjoy!

I'm having pizza tonight - in about 20 minutes in fact - but then I'm lactose intolerant and have mine minus the cheese (it tastes the same, believe me, unless you like feta; the rest is just tactile). Yes, sometimes being "bad" is good for the soul and maybe even the body if you've been too tight with the complex carbs...

Sean Calder (Supe's coach) preaches a 90/10 philosophy. As long as 90% of the diet is clean, the other 10% does not need to be. So if you are eating 4000cals/day, 400 of them can be less than optimal choices.
Personally, I have noticed eating NOT 100% clean has helped the "culking" very nicely!
Go ahead and have some pizza slices, frozen yogurt, etc. I actually get a craving every 2 weeks or so for a slice & figure its my body's way of whispering "Um, a lil' sat fat boost, please?"
