casein
how important is casein in my diet. I use 100% whey isolate and have seen some decent gains. do you think casein can put me over the top?

Well it surely wont hurt.
Using casein before bed gives your muscles protein while you sleep/fast and while your muscles are repairing themselves..

Casein is good for you, but it will not push you over the edge imo. If you arn't seeing good gains from lifting, you need to work more on your diet, prolly add more calories to your daily intake before worrying about buying more supps.

I am seeing good gains. I have gained 8 pounds in 3 months with very little body fat increase. I am just at the size I always get to when i either quit or stop getting bigger but this is the first time i have changed my diet and had protein supplement regularly.
I just got married and that with the honeymoon has gotten me off my routine. need to get back into my habits and push through.

Wait a minute... Is this a "potential" thread?
If so, IN on first page!
If not, Casein is not gonna send you to the Olympia, but it's a great night time supplement. Much better than having ice cream before bed.
Also can be taken for long intervals between meals.
I prefer a blend such as Micellar Matrix.

It will help, but you know what will really put you over the top?

You will be fine taking cas. even if you take whey as well. Whey is faster digesting, casein digests a lot slower, making it a great night time supp (with a PB&J sandwich if you ask me) ha Good Luck and HODDY TODDY haha

Exactly my pre-bed time snack.

Casein is more anit-catabolic than it is anabolic.
Casein will be helpfull in keeping you from moving backwards, not so much in moving forwards.
I use a blend before bed if my last meal is light in protein.

sounds like you need to be eating more
