My friend and I were debating if an average NHL player was to fight an average NBA who would win? It was led from him saying NHL is more hardcore then NBA which I agree, however in a real life fight I'd pick the NBA fighter and he'd pick otherwise.

This is actually a pretty interesting thread. I'd say that the NBA might have it on reach and athleticism, although NHL will be more experienced. I voted NBA.

nba players got size advantage, but nhl players got fighting experience, tough choice, id go skill over size though.

Sure there are some tough ass NBA guys, but the thread is about average vs average. NHL player takes it for sure. And if your putting top NHL tough guy vs top NBA tough guy, then the NHL guys still takes it.

im gonna have to say NHL. Ive been watching all of the Mike Tyson fights lately and although he was pretty much outmatched in size or reach in every fight i think that if your a more experienced fighter/better fighter, which i believe on average a hockey player would be, your gonna win regardless of size/reach disadvantages.
