Hey guys,
I leave Monday April 27th for boot camp for the US Marine Corps. Just wanted to throw up a thread thanking everyone for the advice and posts that I have learned from.. I will be doing Aviation Electronics (BA). Wish me luck and I hope everyone gets closer to their weight lifting goals!
I 1 Rep Maxed this week at 165lbs.. I have been staying at the same weight about but just getting stronger and stronger...
About 2 Months ago i 1 rep maxed at these:
Bench - 255lbs
Squat - 295lbs
Deadlift - 305lbs
This week (2 months later) i 1 rep maxed at these:
Bench - 265lbs (If i woulda went for 275 i woulda got it if i tried before doing 265)
Squat - 315lbs
Deadlift - 325lbs
So 10-20lbs on each lift in 2 months...
Comments?
Thanks guys and take care!

Congrats on the lifts
Advice for boot camp: keep low profile, dont ever tell your drill instructor: back east we used to do it this way, dont volunteer for anything, and if you have a drill insrtuctor with a sense of humor and he asks if anyone likes bowling, do not raise your hand or you will be cleaning the toilet bowls for awhile for being a dumbass!
Good luck and take care.

Kick everybodys a$$ in the initial PFT. Stand out as a leader but don't try to be cockey. Don't be afraid of your Drill Instructors but respect them. Shoot for being the "Platoon Guide". Last but not least go for Honorman.
Good Luck

Enjoy the experience because it will pass quickly. Remember everything happens there for a purpose and have fun. I had a blast when I enlisted... Thank you for serving.

Good luck to you....
I will only suggest a couple of things.
1) be tougher than nails
2) set the highest example in all aspects of your conduct and training
3) focus on being the best in your platoon as one day you may be called
upon to save a fellow Marine....it is a 'team' of the highest order...IMO.
4) it will be a life lesson of respect, honor, integrity and comraderie.
Hope that helps....that's all for now.
