The "Best" Female Rocker(s) of the 80's
Considering this is the Female Misc. section, I figured that those of us old enough to remember the 80's might have some thoughts on this topic. I tried to list all the big names I could think of (while not diverging into the punk scene or pop or other genres too deeply) but if there are any I missed that you feel need to be added, please post below with your comment.
Personally I think, as garden-variety rockers go, Pat Benatar tops the list with her amazing vocals and diverse musical offerings.
Vixen would be my #2 choice, just because they were such a talented band of rocking ladies who could play and glam-up just as well as any of the male bands did at that time.
So, that being said, Who do you feel was the "best" female rocker of the 1980's?
(And just because I have to admit to this: I almost did add Jem and the Holograms to that list!  )

Benatar, hands down. It was over the minute she did "Heartbreaker" on American Bandstand. My brother and I ran right out and blew our allowance on that album.
Joan Jett had some moments, but Pat Benatar churned out great songs over and over again. I still have her tunes in my workout mix.

nothing helps me crank out those last few deadlifts like "Heartbreaker"!!!! I was at a club and they played Joan Jett's I Love Rock N Roll... everyone was going crazy... It's a good song, I like it... But when Love Is A Battlefield came on, only me and girl I was dancing with and a few other people did the whole "Ohhhh **** I love this song" kinda thing..
But I think it was because we were the only ones in our 30's. I think the rest of the kids liked Joan Jett's song better because they probably thought it was a Britney Spears cover!
