Congrats! Repped for the bench press & hitting the buffet. I'm on a cut and going a little lighter with my weights right now, but a 300 # bench press is on the checklist of things I would to accomplish.

Hey, thanks all. As always great support from this crowd. Yeah thats a first, even younger I never hit it. Never really had the power for a good BP 1 rep max.
And the buffet rocked, but I feel like crap now. Ate well and crashed hard.

Way to be positive I dont normally neg but in your case I am going to make an exception. 5 years for 43lbs. You set the same goals for yourself?
For the record that chart makes no sense. 198 needs to like 360 to be elite. 220 needs 380. So add 22lbs to your bodyweight and gain only 20lbs on the bench. I would be very upset with that ratio.

not necessarily true...i agree its a tough barrier but 50 pounds in five years is very do-able! i hit 315 last summer for a first time max....then took about 6 months off then the last 5 months i have been liftin hard and heavy again and hit 340 about a month ago and hopefully still climbing...hardwork, confidence, nutrition and the will to succeed will get him there! good job OP!

Do you weigh close to his weight and are talking from personal xp in going from 300 to 343? If so I apalogize and change my opinion if it took you 5 years.
I went from 315 to 365 in one year and I am pretty close to his weight.

Dude, you're arguing with a 19 year old who has no pics or stats and is spouting nonsensical generalizations about body building. Save your keystrokes, there is no point.

You're a Lions fan? Bummer man. Hopefully with Millen gone they can start doing something positive. It's been a long time since the Barry Sanders era.
