He is being convicted of 29,000 murders he did. How can you tell me you feel pity for a man who personally killed 29k people.

I don't know why people are comparing this guy to normal everyday soldiers who may have killed innocent people - hiroshima bombers, soldiers in Iraq/Afghanistan, etc.

The point here is not that he was responsible for killing innocent people, but that he was an "active and willing" participant in the act of genocide, killing people solely because of who they are. The US soldiers didn't drop the bombs because the people were Japanese, and soldiers in Iraq aren't killing innocent people because they're Iraqi.

You're comparing apples to oranges here. There's a huge difference, ethically, legally, and socially.

That's F'd up. He's ukrainian. There's alot that was never told about what really happened in the S.S. and the general Nazi military. during that time stalin was pulling holomodor on the ukrainians and they were trying viciously to liberate themselves from the USSR. They helped the Nazi's fight against Stalin in underground attempts to weaken the soviets HOWEVER the UPA was never told that they would be fighting the Nazi's war all the way through. When some of the batallions of the Ukrainians army went back with the SS they were forced to work at the ocncentration camps when they really expeted to be killing soviets. yes this is first hand information. mygirlfriends grandmother was a UPA spy during this.

This might sound one sided but I have no sympathy for him. Send him back. He was part of a process that exterminated 11,000,000 people from the planet. A very small part, but everyone involved played a small part. And if there was nothing wrong with just following orders, explain that to immigration when you enter the country. As an American, I don't want a Nazi living in this country and having the same right that I have. It doesn't matter how old he is, he isn't a former Nazi, he will always be a Nazi.
