Sugar Questions?

Hey all;

I am on a clean bulk right now. According to the daily plate, I need to be eating ~4,000 kcals a day.

What sort of amount of sugar should I be taking in? I've been ~70-80g a day, too much? too little?

What about artificial sweeteners? Diet sodas? Sugar Free Jell-o? Should I be worried about these artificial sweeteners?

+rep for those who help

There is no "set amount" for how much sugar you should or shouldn't be taking in. The sugars will be incorporated as part of your carbohydrate intake for the day. As for articificial sweeteners... What are you specifically concerned about? In my opinion, don't worry about them.

Agreed with above poster, there really is no set amount, and if you're eating well and exercising it shouldn't matter anyways. Don't stress over it, as for artificial sweetners, I don't trust them personally, but many people I know use them with no ill effects

artifical sugars are fine IN MODERATION as are MOST THINGS
They only warrent worry when taken in excess
as for specific "set" sugar requirements I would not go out of my way to
take in extra sugar as I dont really see a need

in the same breath I will ask why are you over thinking it just hit your numbers and push heavy weights
