Rocky (MOVIE) Usage of bridging shot?

I don't know if any of you know your literary film devices but I have a project i need to do on the movie Rocky. In scene 19 when he's running with the famous nondigetic music, it constantly cuts every 3 seconds from him running in one area to another, or cuts from him running to doing pushups and back to running again. Is this the usage of bridging shots to show a change in time and progression on Rocky's part or is that not technically correct? I looked up bridging shot and i got an example of a guy looking at a calendar and tearing the pages off until he gets to a future day and poof it's that day, but anyhow that doesn't seem to match with what im talking about in Rocky so i'm not sure.

Thanks!

Thats pretty tricky, it could be symbolised as that, because he is reaching a destination with himself not so much a defined date. But a timeline of goals until the final day.
