How to lose butt and thigh fat?

I'm a beginner here and my fat has an abnormal tendency to sit on my thighs and butt. My body is completely disproportionate because of this. I understand that losing overall body fat but cardio might work, but is there a way to specifically target the thighs and butt?

(By the way, yes I'm ready to admit I'm a bit fat, but I hope show my body transformation in 4 months time.)

The sad answer is no. There's no way to target your fat loss. You can target your muscle growth to an extent, but your fat is going to come off your most stubborn areas last, no matter what you do. The fact that you're posting this question implies that your butt and thighs are your most stubborn areas, and the truth you have to face is that you have to lose most of your body fat before you're going to really see the fat come off those areas.

Why is it people seems to think you can reduce body parts by exercising them? This will build the muscle underneath the fat, which if anything will make the body part larger. Building muscle is a good way to increase metabolism, but it can't spot-reduce.

Create a calorie deficit, up some cardio and aim to lift in the 8-12 rep range (muscular endurance/definition). There's no way to shock those areas into burning fat fast but with a little diligence and hardwork you can achieve it. Some more body stats, intake information and info on your workout routine would also help folks here to provide a more suitable answer.

This is 100% wrong. Ignore it.

Unfortunately, as has been posted by the rest of the people in this thread, you can't spot reduce fat. You can only alter your overall levels of bodyfat, but as to where that fat comes off first it's entirely up to genetics and no exercise or diet will change that.

NOT! Bad advice there. You can't spot reduce

    Wink Good Luck

If you admit that you're "a bit fat," then it probably stands true that you need to lose size everywhere and not just the areas mentioned. Since it's not going to come off of any one specific area, just do the things you know you need to do. Eat clean, train hard, and bust your butt with cardio! The fat will ALL come off as it needs to.... including the areas of concern.

    GOOD LUCK!!

    Cardio!Cardio!Cardio!Cardio!Cardio!Cardio!Cardio!C ardio!Cardio!Cardio!Cardio!

Jog, stair step, cycle anything to get your heart rate up and makes you sweat your ass off. I agree that leg exercises will help, but you have to keep Cardio in the mix or you will not get the results you want to achieve. Diet is also very important. Try to eat as clean as possible.
