not sure if there are any rules against this, but I am selling some of my guitars. If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM or if it's allowed/wanted/whatever, I will post all the info here. I am selling:

ESP Custom Shop Viper (see through black, flamed maple)
    ESP Eclipse II (Snow white)
ESP LTD SC-608B (stephen carpenter series 8 string baritone in black, chip on head stock from when it was shipped to me, $50 luthier repair)

    and possibly

ESP Custom Shop Eclipse (see through black quilted maple)

Really hate to do it, but I have too many guitars as is, and I just don't play them enough, and am potentially dealing with down sizing in a big move next year...

pics of everything except the CS eclipse:

    price range?
    tube or solid state?
    head or combo?
running effects or more interested in the tone of the amp itself?
    what sound/style/etc you going for?

yes, more info, that's like "I want to buy a guitar, I have an acoustic, what other kind should I get?"

    First - music genre
    Second - price range
Third - at home or playing out
    then any other pertinent info

also, WHAT about the Line 6 do you not like?
I mean there's lots of things TO LIKE as well as things to not like
Are you sure you know how to use it properly to find your tone or are you just scrolling through the crappy presets?

Just picked up my first 7 string: Jackson SLATXMGQ3-7 Soloist

I ****ing love this guitar. EMG 707's, Compound Radius fingerboard, Speed Neck, Floyd Rose, Piranha Inlay, 3-Piece Maple with Graphite Reinforcement neck, Playthrough neck. ugh it's a thing of beauty. Shocked it wasn't more expensive.

Which colour did you get? I remember seeing a lime green 7 string and it was a stunner.

On another note, anybody here have any experience with the ESP M-1000 deluxe EMG model? I've only read good things about the older hard tail with the Seymour Duncan passives but not much on the EMG model. It's got two EMG 81s and not the 81/85 combo that was sold a few years back.

I've got my Gibson SG Special (2012) just sitting in the guitar rack and it has barely been used. I want another guitar with a floyd and active pick ups and a bloke is willing to trade but lives around 2hrs away. I'm not too sure if it's worth it or not...either way I'd definitely play the ESP a lot unless it sucks compared to the other guitars (which I doubt).

Yo guitar brahs. Thought I'd drop by and share some recent recordings.

Just finished recording a solo I've been working on for a week now. It's not 100% note for note and a little rough around the edges but I thought I'd share.

the last solo I learned, originally played on acoustic but I thought it sounded nice with a clean strat

    dem bathroom acoustics

    Gear:
Epi Les Paul Studio with Seymour Duncan Jazz/JB pickups
    Squire Strat... POS
    Epi MasterBuilt Acoustic (AJ-500RNS)
    M-Audio M-Track

No amps, I use Guitar Rig 5 for 90% of my recordings and Amplitube for anything else. I'm planning to buy a nice american strat after christmas. I bought the beater electrics to learn on and never really got around to replacing them since they were sufficient.

Swapped out the pickup in the Hofner Shorty.
I was going to use an Ibby INF4 that I got cheap, but was able to grab a Sey Dun Invader for $45, so I used that. Still only at $160 for the whole package as I grabbed the guitar on the Cheap as a store leftover.
Also changed out the neck pup in the tele for another GFS Lil Puncher, got rid of the chinese blade pup as it was actually strat sized and not tele sized

hey bro been doing a bit of kemper research, what is your opinion on it? and why get a Mark IV over say a Mark IV patch for the kemper? My guess is the versatility of the Boogie covers all the bases you need anyway?

The kemper is absolutely awesome, but honestly it's overwhelming for me, and I end up just using 3-5 patches. I have been playing through tube amps for 18 years, and just prefer the feel and ability to tweak everything right there with a slight turn of a knob. I'm sure if I actually sat down and tried to LEARN the kemper, I would have more fun with it. But when I sit down to play, I want to do just that. I want to play. The MARK IV patch is actually a really good sounding patch. I love the diezel and bogner patches as well (was over lapping them for use on my 8 string).

But at the end of the day, I missed my mark iv set up, and I have a pedal board with all the boutiquey pedals I need (all 3 effects lol).

    EDIT:
and yes the MARK IV covers all my needs. When I got the kemper and downsized all my chit, I was really wanting to start recording and writing again, and that was going to be the easiest set up for me. I got over that phase real quick after a work promotion, more time practicing BJJ and having a new gf lol.

Another amp that I miss, the VHT (Freyette) Sig X.... ugh.

I'm reposting this here since since my thread is getting dumped to 2nd page and no one seems to be looking at it:

I used to play quite a bit but kinda dropped the hobby as I concentrated on BBing and between that and working full time I don't really have the time to practice enough to get better. I am a metal brah and enjoyed playing stuff like Megadeth, old In Flames, At The Gates, Iced Earth, etc.. My gear consists of:

Jackson SL1 (which is tuned to D standard...dat down tuning)
Jackson SL2 with EMG's (tuned to E standard)
    Mesa Mark IV 1x12 Combo
A few FX medals but not much.....not really big on effects

Love my tone with the SL1. It's pretty much perfect for me. I am a tone snob and to me, my setup had to sound PERFECT for me, which it does.

Well, my soon to be 18 year old sis got into guitar about a year ago and I "lend" her my Martin Acoustic. She's been playing regularly ever since and I doubt I am getting that guitar back.......which is fine since I barely play any more and even if I do once in a blue moon, I pick up my SL1. BUT she's complaining about upper fret access on the acoustic and I think she really wants/needs an electric. Kinda want to get her a guitar for Christmas/Birthday (3 days apart) BUT she does NOT listen to Metal at all. She listens to Indie rock. Some of her favorite artists are The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, White Stripes, The Horrors, etc. Want to spend around $400 and would prefer used to get more bang for the buck. Was thinking something like a MIM Tele or a Epiphone Sheraton II. She said she likes the Fender Jaguar but I think the guitar is ugly as fawk cuzzzz. Any suggestions? Oh, also have a Roland Micro-Cube that I will probably throw her way for a practice amp.

    CLIFFS:
*Want to get guitar for sister.
*She listens to The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, the Horrors, etc.
    *I am a metal brah and don't know **** about non-metal axes.
    *Budget around $400-450
*Can do used since I know my way around a fret board a bit
    *What do?

PS: No pics of sister *******s

Buying a guitar depends on personal shape, style and feel preference. Any guitar can be used for any genre, there is nothing genre-specific outside of extended range guitars (7, 8, 9, 12, etc. string). I would take her shopping to find one that feels right in her hands and then spend your remaining budget on an amp that is able to model the bands that you've listed, or at least get some effects that will get you remotely close to their sound. That part will require a little bit of research for specific tone settings or signature gear (pedals, amps, etc.)

Some nice guitars in this thread. Makes me wish I still had my electric gear. Currently playing nothing but acoustics. Just got a tab to Andy McKee's "Rylynn," and trudging my way through that. May have a video to share in about a year. Cheers!

I just started my own stratocaster build, black nitro laquer alder body, vintage tremolo, will have the Lollar Blonde single coils, a JM signature neck, which was the only US made strat neck with bigger C neck profile and 9.5 radius and standard tuners.

Have gotten the tremolo and the body, still saving up for pickups and neck

I'll probably post pics of the project once I start assemble it.

Birthday/CHristmas present is supposed to be a surprise, hence not taking her shopping. Second, this is going to be her first electric and hence, she probably doesn't know what the hell she likes yet anyways so it really makes little difference. Third, yes, there is genre specific stuff, or at the very least tone specific stuff. You're not gonna use an ESP with EMG to play jazz as it will have zero dynamics. Similarly, you won't use some noisy single coils for trash metal cause it will sound like turd with the gain turned all the way up. Fourth, she will be getting my micro-cube as a starter/practice amp as mentioned so that part is covered.

Brahs, ive been wanting to get a high quality guitar for years and am thinking of getting one of the new JP Majesty 7's. Ive played the other 7 string signature models and they were frickin awesome. Anyone have experience with one of these bad boys?

Need help brahs. I recently got a new yamaha gfs700. First time I've ever touched a guitar let alone own one. Anyhow, I'm trying to learn the chords but I feel like my stubby fingers are holding me back. Do you guys thing having stubby fingers is the reason or did everyone have this issue at first?

Dont worry, youre just new to the instrument. You're not used to using your fingers in that way and it will feel weird as fuark for a while. Grind on through it and you should notice more competence with chords in a few months with regular practice. It's all about practice.

That is very classy, would love to get one for playing some Albert King type blues.
