No...the apple horns have stupid apple cut-outs in the body- hence APPLEhorn.
The one on the right is a Horus HGS.
On the left is the TAT Special. It's actually the only one of it's kind right now (there is a black one out there somewhere though) They don't start production of them until June....and even then they're only going to make maybe 10 a year. Cost a ****load, but probably the best guitar I've ever played.

After comparing the GT-10 and RP1000 and reading some gearhead threads comparing the two, I went with the RP1000
I just could not find a patch I loved, and Peavey and Boss were both unsure if the amp switching feature would work with my amplift big 2 get big

I'm using a Fender Hot Rod Deville (4x10 inch speakers) and have two guitars, a 1960's re-issue strat (curved fret board) and an epiphone LP copy. Got a Crybaby classic wah-wah pedal also.
Loving the deville, got it about 2 months ago and it's ridiculously loud and breaks up nicely past 3-4 on clean.

Selling the Peavey Valveking 212 to a buddy
Picked up a Traynor YSC50
Waiting for it and the RP1000 to come in.
The valveking was awesome, but only with the outboard EQ engaged (two 15 bands daisychained for dual stage solo/scoop)
The YSC has got such a great reputation and, based on the clips and reviews, has a better heavy sound out of the gate.lift big 2 get big

Is there really a big difference between a 10w amp and a 15w? I got a 10w amp that I got when I bought my guitar electric pack, well my friends got a 15w laying around and was thinkin maybe I could get it for cheap, does it make a big diff?

10-15 is no big step, unless the speaker is much bigger.
But a 6 or 8 inch is not a big jump, until you jump to a 10 or 12 inch speaker, don't worry about it
Of course, if you are using a Joe Blow 10 watt and he's got a Crate 15 watt, it will probably sound better
the worst small "pak" amps are the crappy fender/squire oneslift big 2 get big

Need a new amp
I'm still using my old Peavey 5150 head, and really SHOULD upgrade. Any recommendations? You can hear some of my playing at www.myspace.com/khalidilahi

im currently using a marshall 1959 tube head on a crate amp. sounds pretty good, the head can get some badass distortion.
recently bought fender custom shop 69 pups as well.
on wishlist:

i think with the 69 pickups, this pedal will make my guitar scream hendrix.

It definitely takes some work to get the tremolo to sound musical rather than comical. But when you do, it's amazing.
Vai and Satriani have completely mastered this. They do all sorts of unnoticed things with the bar that really sets their playing apart.
Kirk Hammet would be someone off the top of my head that just makes noise with it.The assassins of freedom tend the burning of truth.

What's your guys opinion on this beast of a guitar I'm buying in a few weeks.
emgs both pickups, setneck and a mahogany body. I already own the goth explorer by epiphone and absolutely love it. When I get that ESP I'm going to be pumping dis **** out!!!

It took me years of playing to figure out how to use it for effect
Just too easy to wind up making train noises
Now I have figured out how to work it in where it makes sense
Also took a while to properly learn the 2nd fret slap harmonic tremolo scream, where it sounds right, like Malmsteen at the end of the solo on the Steeler album beginning intro to Hot On Your Heels, that dive bomb scream pull
do it right and it's amazing, wrong and you sound like a total newb...
if you can time it just right with the wah, it'll make the cats run...Last edited by ctgblue; 05-22-2009 at 05:15 AM.

They are not bad, I had a couple of LTD's over the years, never liked the necks
I prefer the jackson Kelly body for the explorer style, but it's a preference
You cannot go too wrong with the real EMG's, usually an 81B and 85N
Nice solid output that allows easy cleanup with the volume knob
I am looking at a couple of set neck / neck thru models with stop tails to use for alternate tunings that are impossible with my floyd equipped jacksons
but I am a 24 fret guy, never a good idea to gig with a 24 and a 22 as backup, one time the 24 string broke and I kept sliding up too little on solos for the first few songs as I was using the end of the fretboard for reference, I sold the 22 fret the next weeklift big 2 get big

Sweet, yeh that guitar has been mostly getting positive reviews and I actually like the shape better then the original explorer, I've even heard of guys getting that ESP shaped and rounded to look like hetfields 84 gibson explorer cause that isn't in production any more. I Played one few months back in a music store in sydney and it felt good to play, did a few fast lead runs and usual thrash gallops and it was not bad to play, different but still good. I guess every guitar takes a a little adjusting to get used to. hahaha I could imagine the awkwardness of using a 22 fret on stage when the solo is designed for 24 frets, I'm glad all my other guitars are 22 fret and most of my solos rarely go beyond the 19th fret.

I didn't need all 24 frets, but when you are moving around a lot, doing all the solo work and using a quick visual to make sure you're in position, you wind up two frets low a few times
It was a nice S470 flame top, was almost too pretty to sell, but I had enough guitars anyway, when I was still singlelift big 2 get big

Hammet pretty much started going downhill when the band did, tho he never was a amazing guitarist I did love most of his stuff untill after And Justice For All. He is just James and Lar's puppet now even more than ever

IMO I think james is the better guitarist than mustaine and hammet, he doesn't get much credit because I think the spot light is very rarely on his playing ability. If you notice the guitar mags and **** always have featured articles about hammet and never hetfield? Either he is to humble or shy. When 'tallica first kicked off mustaine used to talk to the crowd between songs cause james was shy lol
