You can get some natural supplements or herbs that can give you the same effect without hitting your stomach or kidneys as hard. Google it or use the search function for natural anti inflamatories.

YES! Internal bleeding is very common with frequent NSAID use. Plus, anti-inflammatories have been show to reduce muscle growth.
Telling someone to take NSAIDS all the time is the worst medical advice I've ever heard!

I have to disagree with DrClay I'm afraid.
Telling someone to take NSAIDs all the time is not the worst medical advice ever. By a long way! While I would say that taking aspirin before a workout is a little excessive, if you are in pain afterwards, go for it. Aspiring works mainly on the cyclo-oxygenase pathway mediating thromboxane A2, so is more effective as an anti-platelet than an anti-inflammatory. Ibuprofen is ideal for inflammation and pain however.
As far as I'm aware, the studies showing NSAIDs impede muscle growth are not entirely conclusive in terms of a noticeable difference, and certainly this evidence is not given any credibility by organisations such as the GMC.
"Internal bleeding" common with NSAIDs? I presume you are talking about peptic ulceration, and bleeding ulcers. This is not classed as internal bleeding, as the GI tract is in fact outside of the body in terms of anatomy. Certainly if you have active stomach or duodenal ulcers, NSAIDs would be ill-advised, but in a healthy young adult one or two doses per week will be very unlikely to cause any problems at all.
If you are taking 4-5 doses per day then you would start to see problems, but you shouldn't be taking this much without a doctors prescription.
DrClay, with all due respect, please be less sensationalistic with your responses, as the 'Dr' in your username makes people put more weight to your opinions.
The first rule of cheat club is you do not talk about cheat club. The second rule of cheat club is you DO NOT talk about cheat club. Third rule of cheat cub, someone yells stop!, goes limp, taps out, the cheat is over. Fourth rule, one cheat at a time, fellas. Fifth rule, cheats will go on as long as they have to. And the sixth and final rule, if this is your first night at cheat club, you have to cheat.

AGREED - unless you are a doctor, lol! Unsure why you should take anything prophalactly? May dull your senses while on the ice.
