Question More sore on one side of body after deadlifts

Does this imply that I am not lifting properly, i.e. using my dominant side for the majority of the pull?

I am right handed, use a mixed grip (right hand supinated) for my heaviest set. I get much more DOMS on the right side of my lower back than the left, although the traps are about equal... scared I am setting myself up for injury.

Try double overhand grip. Sounds to me that your right side is extremely stronger than your left so when your pulling on the lift your right hand and side are doing the majority of the work.

The supinated hand has a tendency to drift from the body. If you're doing this you're likely adding strain on your right side. Keep that in mind.

Make sure you set up symmetrical on the bar. Sometimes it's the legs that are asymmetrical, but I find the supinated grip can drift, as the above poster astutely mentioned.

^You should actually switch which side is supinate every set or rep, just to ensure balance.
