Is eating plain food the only way to get shredded?
Do I really have to eat plain food without seasoning in order to attain a low body fat percentage? I am aiming at 7-8% bf...

no...seasonings (NOT DRESSINGS) have zero cals..plus u need fats in a healthy diet anyhow..so dressing isnt bad..or mayo. just have a controlled amount of cals..

it helps to cut out the extras.
the salt and sugar make you want to eat past the point of being full.
that being said as long as you can consume the amount of calories you need and maintain a balanced diet there is no reason you wont lose weight.
along with cardio and strength training yer good to go.
good luck

Is okay if I use fat free cheese for taste? Don't you have to take sodium intake into consideration.

if your drinking enough water everyday than sodium shouldnt be an issue. fat free cheese is fine. although regular cheese does not have all the extras in it. just so you kno.

actually if ur getting a sufficent amount of potassium...sodium to potassium ratio is very important..though water is too lol.

And no, it's not necessary to eat only plain food. What you need is to just burn more than you take in. Yes I know it's too simple of an answer but it's true.

According to some anti-bros around here, you can eat snickers, maple syrup waffels and poptards and still get ripped.
I wouldn't know though, have no experience with it atall.
However, I have met a few fellows who themselves are at 6-7%, and do not pay attention to their diets (they eat dirty) because their metabolisms are through the roof.

Either that or they perform alot of physical activity.
But since you bring up metabolism, doesn't it just prove that it's all about energy balance?

Yes, one must balance the evil vs. good.
Duality as one.

So sodium manipulation, avoiding certain dressings isn't warranted.
Dehydration is another story. But we're talking about losing BODYFAT here, not being competition ready. 7-8% is fat by comp standards.

i think it depends on how ur body responds..some people like a 300cal snickers and some whey pre workout instead of 300cals of oats and some whey..they respond better..keep in mind u eat for fuel..and u wanna fuel ur workouts with what foods work best for u..whether that be a snickers or poptars or oats or peanut butter..have it..
and the only people i think who could eat like u said considering they get a sufficent amount of protein and nutrients also and still stay/get ripped, are cyclists or swimmers..some kind of endurance athlete.

its a home-made spice mix: dried spinach, sea salt, dried yellow and red onions, garlic, red pepper flakes, little paprika, dill... I make it in large amounts (well, relatively, like 100 serves worth), and store it with my other spices. sooo good. this tilapia makes my whole house smell delicious when im cookin it with that on it.

Use spices unless you like eating cardboard. And don't forget condiments. I put either hot sauce, mustard, or salsa on almost everything. Salsa is great plus it's extra vegetables. Just get fresh salsa and not the stuff in jars. Although some of the jarred/canned salsa isn't bad for you it won't taste nearly as good as fresh salsa which you can probably find in most supermarkets (definitely Kings and Whole Foods carry it). Or if you're so inclined you can make salsa yourself. It's a great way to make otherwise boring food much more tolerable.

Look for a swiss cheese low in sodium (because they DO vary by brand).
