Question regarding training/hypertrophy...
K, so... in my previous routine, I was mainly just concerned with strength since I was really weak on pretty much every lift. I was lifting as heavy as I could, doing low reps, and taking long breaks in between my sets (4 min). And I know people are probably going to think that's way too long of a break in between sets and stuff... but... I mean, it was working for me in terms of strength. Now, tho, I'm wanting to just really focus on size. So, what I've done is drop the weight and drop the rest time in between my sets down to 1 minute (2 minutes in between exercises). I'm definitely finding it a hell of a lot harder, too... not used to it at all and it's getting me tired pretty quick.
So, I mean... it sucks having to drop the weight down and everything, but I think I'll like it a lot better if it's going to help me a whole lot more in terms of mass later on down the road. I mean, I loved training for strength and going as heavy as I could... made me feel good being able to handle heavier weights and stuff, but I really want to focus on getting bigger.
So, what do you guys think? Does my plan sound like it'll work? Also, I won't lose any muscle by switching things up and dropping the weight and having my rest time be a whole lot shorter, will I? Just wondering how it kinda works when you switch over and make a change like that... I don't guess I've ever been really clear on that.
