    Will this get me into ketosis?

    I have been having some trouble getting this keto thing down. I have dropped 22 Lbs on a normal low calorie / low carb diet but now I wanna do some weights and go keto to drop the last few pounds and tone up..
    I cant seem to get it right though. I am using keto strips to check and I haven't hit ketosis so I figured I would post a snapshot of my daily diet for you guys to critique.. any help appreciated (and yes I know my calories are low..I have been dropping 2 & 1/2 lbs a week. This is why I am now slowly going to up my intake and use keto for the last few lbs.
    I usually eat some vegies (one-two cups broccoli and/or beans) and take fibre and multivitamins also - I just haven't added them into todays
    Thanks in advance for any advice / help / flaming...

    how much do you weigh? 1,120 cals seem very, very low for almost any male, even those cutting.

    I only weigh 149 lbs.....
    I do eat another 100 -150 calories (give or take) on top of what you see there but thats usually just a cup or two of broccoli or beans and a small hand full of dried apricots for a snack.
    I figure I just haven't got the fat high enough in my diet yet to hit ketosis..
    any ideas?

    Handfuls of apricots aren't a keto food, your fat's too low, and aren't you starving all the time on that many calories? Try tuna that doesn't have 5 g of sugar in it... if you add 2 cups of beans to all that, you could be eating a lot of carbs and very little fat. Start over - think fat + meat. The chicken thighs are good. A lot of your fat is coming from the olive oil, but if you're cooking in it, you could be leaving half of it in the pan, I don't know.

    if your having problems then just drop your carbs really low, that should put you in keto. MAKE SURE your eating your fats though because that is what your body will turn to for energy. also, make sure your getting at least 1gram of protein per pound of lean body mass.

    couple of things I've learned from the members here that might help you.

    1. fruits are a no no on keto (tomatoes are a fruit btw)
    2. eat high in fiber veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, >avocado<(high in fat and fiber)
    3. drink your whey post work out and do not eat anything else for at least 1 hour
    4. just lift HEAVY A$$ weights & eat on dat healthy isht . * hellabutt psychology 101 * ("MrLovrLovr" signature)< rep
    5. drink plenty of water and dont worry to much about ketostix

    Thanks for the advice. About the 65 /30/5 split - its percentages of total calories right?

    Coz I have just added up todays and its 67% fat, 25% protein and 8% carbs.
    86 grams fat, 74 grams protein and 14 grams carbs...
    Is this closer to where I should be?

    Please do not eat the apricots...those alone could be keeping you out of Keto, depending on how many you're consuming.
