Decided to play live at the casino tonight. I played $1/3 blinds, and bought in with max $200...Maybe 3 hands go by and i'm in the big blind with AA's. I couldn't help but be excited considering these players were mega-aggressive.

I raise to $15...another raises to $50...back to me and I go all in. I get 2 callers...hands flipped over

    AA
    QQ
    JJ

Flop was dead, and I took the pot (~$480)

Felt good man. Too bad most of it I lost later that game..but I still walked out with an extra $230, so i'm happy.

Loctus, how many tables did you stack? I actually just got into moving up from one table to 3 to 5 and I feel like my play improves when I do. I get less bored and am therefore less likely to call with sub-par hands.

that's lame that the max is 200 for 1/3. At AC 1/2 would be max 300, and 2/5 would be like 600ish, which is nice that you get to play deep stacked

Also, are VPPs earned on $.01/$.02 tables on Stars? I have collected 0 VPPs so far this month... but I think I've played at least 500 hands.

About 15, so I have time to look at blinds and stacksizes and not make some silly mistake like shoving A9o with 50bb's stacks, which can happen if I play more then that.

And yeah, playing more tables can actually improve ones play for exactly the reason you say.

Extremely seldomly, you would have to have something like three 200bb stacks go all in to get a VPP.

Thanks bro. Did about 40 minutes of 5-tabling this morning and I am up 1.5 buyins, not bad. I switched to cascade-style and I like it a lot better than tile. Will slowly start adding tables.

I guess I will have to wait on the VPPs until I move up in stakes

Made an initial deposit of $15 a month ago and I'm now up to $85 on FTP. I was hovering around $30-$40 but I came in second in a knockout SnG for 40 bucks. I know its not much but still feels good man

    Thank you, pokerstars!

Loaded up my usual batch of 20 SNG's, a mix of 18/45/90/180 mans. Now lets play, how many of these did I cash in?

    None.

**** YOU POKERSTARS, **** YOU, **** YOUR MOM, **** YOUR DOOMSWITCH, **** ALL OF YOU.

I was on the wrong side of every flip, every cooler, and hey, if I managed to get it all in PF with AA vs. AK, AQ, and JJ, I LOSE! YAAAY!

Holy ****, most insane runbad I've ever experienced WTF

    edit: make that 30 SNG's.

    edit2: (couple of hours later)

Soo, I tilted away half my roll on svenskaspel and withdrew $2000 and left $500 on there incase I want to do something more there.

Then I went back to stars and realized that SNG's suck cock and I'm better at PLO cashgames, so I decided "Hey, lets swtich to Stars fulltime". I can't deposit at the moment so I started grinding PLO10 (LOL). Hopefully I'll be able to move up in stakes pretty quickly. Played 315 hands at PLO10 and my bb/100 is 206, if it keeps on like that, I'll be at PLO100 in no time.

When I get rolled for PLO100 I'll play some HU PLO50, I play HU passively for a while and see if the other guy is a huge donk, and if he is, it's cash city, otherwise I just go back to the regular tables (yes bumhunter HU, what can I say, I like money. Usually).

Can anyone recommend some decent chips for a tournament me and a load of other guys are having?

There's alot of them out there, it would appear, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any particular brands/makes they prefer.

Hey, I found a chart for shortstacking 10bb, do you think is legit?

Some of the other charts on the site (http://pokershortstack.com/10bb-strategy) seem very loose, especially the one for reraising...

i wouldnt advise shortstacking. be prepared for a ton of variance and maybe a tiny winrate if you play enough hands against fish. also on stars/tilt min buyin is 20bb.

Some of the other charts on the site (http://pokershortstack.com/10bb-strategy) seem very loose, especially the one for reraising...
I'm pretty sure that 10bb charts are mathematically calculated pretty well. Over a huge sample you could probably show a tiny winrate with that, but I'd use it more in turbo donkaments then cashgames. Because CG shortstackers should die.

I'm so tilted right now. I went to a house party on saturday night in Sydney, Australia. The next morning I left for star city, the casino.

I'm a 25nl 6max decent reg and found the live games RIDICULOUSLY soft (some guy called some others open shove of >300 bbs on a 9Tj flop with k3 or something and complained when he lost that his straight draws never get there). I bought in to a 1-2 game for $100 (max buy in of 50bbs).

In a few hours I've run it up to around a grand. But by now its getting latish on Sunday. I haven't really slept in the last 48 hours and am still hung over. I was literally falling asleep at the table. All at once it seemed the crazy fish left the table and a couple of guys who obviously knew what they were doing sat down.

I really wish I had the presence of mind to leave then. But it only took me about an hour to lose my $1000 and an extra 2 buy ins of $200. I was playing bad, being tilted and tired and was running like **** getting set over set twice in about 50 hands.

I left the casino feeling pretty ****. Got on the train for my 2 hour trip home and fell asleep. Got off at my station and walked home. Then noticed I didn't have my wallet on me - not sure if I was pickpocketed by the weird looking homeless guy sitting in my train cabin with no one else or it just fell out.

That sucks man, we all have been in those situations where life just sucks and everything is horrible.

But I want you to do this; look at the picture below. Read the text, really look at the picture and think through what has happened in it. Hopefully it'll make you think over your situation.

I'd like to see a 1000% ROI on the 180's.

You're better off depositing yourself because 10 BI is nothing.

Anyways, I'll take some sunday quater million stakes if anyone wants to give away money to a lotto, lol.

no offense but that is most certainly not worth my time, and that would only buy about 25 buyins at the 2s which i dont play anymore anyway
