ufc 97, thoughts?
in my opinion this is the worst ppv i've ever purchased..
not a single fight had that "wow" factor.. I think I was pretty much dissapointed with the entire card..
you guys?

The only good fight was the Shogun-Chuck fight, from a Shogun fan I wasn't expecting Shogun to viciously knock out Liddell.
Otherwise it was pretty awkward but not that terrible. In between bad and good...like mediocre.

I thought it was a decent card, Stout and shogun/liddell had me really excited and I thought they were really entertaining. All the other fights were some what mediocre.

Silva looked like he could have pulled the trigger at anytime but didn't ... Leites is no joke and these morons make derogatory chants - dicks .

Shogun looked great, brought it tonight, would like to see him fight the loser of the title match or possibly a rematch with Forest
Chuck's better days are behind him.
UFC are going to have a hard time marketing Silva as the best fighter in the world with fights like this. Leitas had no answers though and was content with just going the distance.
Kongo is doing well. Looks huge for someone who's 230 at 6 4'.
Stout got handled in the last round of that fight.

that silva fight deserved all the chants that it got... as of right now, the only real fighter in UFC is GSP. If the match up GSP is gonna kill silva once they get matched up.

very dissapointed with the event, i thought it was going to be one of the better UFC to be honest, i was pretty into it untill chuck lost and ballsed my bet up.
however, im still going to write a rage letter to setanta for putting UFC events on setanta2, wankers.

I thought the televised portion was good. Shogun Liddell didn't dissapoint in the least. Only thing to blame here is the lackluster MW titlefight matchmaking which I think left a bad taste in everyones mouths.

Shogun definitely improved his condition while Chuck is still sloppy at recovering from knockdown. He could have save another round if he didnt turn away like that. That looks vulnerable as hell and easy for the judge to stop.
The Silva fight was frustrating. It looks like Thales was too worry trying to hang with Silva for 3 rounds and lost most of his confidence. He exposed his gameplan too early allowing Silva to stay dominant in the stand up. When you know you are losing by points you better switch up your gameplan and have some confidence in trying something new not stick to something that doesnt work. He didnt do this and failed miserably.
