heh yea i got them. always had them. my husband calls them thumb holes cause well...think about it lol. honestly i have never known a really overweight woman to have them...although im not a small right now and i still have mine, they are accented even more if you arch your back

It's from the ilium of your pelvis curving inward, called the PSIS (posterior superior iliac spine). So the structures running over it are going to cave in some. Of course people who are bigger may not have them due to more soft tissue running over the PSIS.

Yup, physical therapists also use this landmark to check if your pelvis is level or rotated.

Someone with low bf% and nice muscles will not cover them up because no muscles really go over that structure. If memory serves me right, the closest is gluteus maximus but it originates more on the posterior wing of the ilium, just next to the PSIS. So it's mainly fat and skin over the PSIS, perhaps some of your thoracolumbar fascia.
