How long does it take to get driving confidence? [serious]
Here is the deal. I'm 17, just for my license. I drive a 2005 Toyota Camry. I've been noticing that I am sort of still not good at driving, as in I can get from A to B fine, but I am hyper concentrated on the road, and still make mistakes. And I don't know how to react if something random or unexpected happens. I'm also afraid of getting lost.
How long did it take for you to learn to chill the hell out, and not so uptight on the road?

It's all psychological bro, CHILL THE **** OUT!! Don't think about making mistakes too much coz otherwise you will, just CHILL and drive, depends on how much you drive, if you drive a lot you'll feel really confident in 2 days if not then about 1 week, I used to be the same way and I made mistakes but, after 2-3 days I was fine

lol you sound better off than most people I know who just get their license. I think it's better to be vigilant and careful like you are. I'm sure you'll learn but most people who just get their license go nuts w/ the freedom to do what they want and crash, I know most of my friends went nuts.

First week was kind of weird
Then its all good
Just care for other drivers. Dont be that ******* on the road who switches lanes with no turn signal or puts the turn signal RIGHT before he turns.
Be a good driver and there will be 1 less ahole on the road.
Confidence will come with time. Be on alert

Can't say ive ever had that problem. Only thing I ever really remember was first time getting on interstate.. thats only time I ever remember getting nervous. Don't know what to tell you besides maybe go to a low traffic area and just drive around.

Driving on the highway for a month to school every morning helped me. Once you get used to driving around 65 mph+ then driving on city streets feels easier.
Also driving with your hands at 6 o'clock is easier than two hands at 10 and 2 for me.

I've been driving for almost 3 weeks now and I'm still not confident enough. I'm worried about making a right turn on a red light and just getting t boned by some dick going 30+ over the speed limit or making a left turn with a guided light and getting demolished by some moron.
that **** gives me the chills because ive seen so many near accidents already...

Once I got my turns down (around 17 years old) I felt pretty comfortable driving. As for getting lost, yeah I get worried about that but GPS solves that problem.

Call me a pussy but I bought a GPS 1 week after I started driving. I didn't realize how useful a GPS was until started using one. Now I can go anywhere I want without feeling nervous or uneasy. Garmin nuvi FTW

I just remember all the cars I've had, and how many miles they've had on them when they were sold/totalled.
Probably more... but I seriously drive 2-3 hours a day. :|

I got my garmin 255w for 160 after shipping and taxes.
**** is cake brah. i can find the cheapest gas station within like 100 miles of me, or every sushi place in the city, i can find stores i never knew existed because they just opened, it can even calculate gas millage and how much it would cost me to drive from point A to point B, etc. garmin makes amazing devices. this thing is literally paying for itself with the gas that im saving.
