deadlift pros i got a question for you!

i made a thread the other day, i got invited last minute to do a strongman comp in 3 days. the deadlift for reps event is very close to my max conventional deadlift. thats the only way ive ever deadlifted and ive actually round out recently that my rack pull from just below the knees is actually weaker then my full deadlift from the floor. so obviously my weakpoint is my lower back.

i squat heavy and deep 2x a week so my legs are my strong point here.

my question is since i dont have enough time to train my deadlift, how can i tell if i can pull more in a sumo stance?

i know sumo is not allowed in strongman but this is just an event run by the school.

so i can full deadlift more off the floor then rack pull.
my deadlift off the floor is about 315-325 i atg squatted 285x7 the other day maybe im stronger sumo? tonight i went to the gym and just did a few singles with 135 and 185 to see how sumo felt compared to conventional.. the weight was too light to see how strrong i was but i did find sumo came up much slower but felt alot less stress on my lower back. overall i think i was equally as strong on both but i cant tell near my max how strong ill be

just some help last minute since i dont have time to train and see where my max is for both.

I'm going to shoot from the hip here and say this:

Without a bunch of prior training in the Sumo DL, I don't think you should hope to Deadlift more Sumo style at this short notice.

Let's see if you get any other responses on this, and I'll come in again if I have a chance.

Your question is redundant... You can't lift sumo style at strongman comps .

Besides, without training your sump your conventional is most likely stronger at the moment anyway.

edit: missed the part about the school running the comp. Still, stick to what you've been doing. Try sumo out after the comp.

What event is it? At some events you are not allowed pull sumo. Plus, if you age going to be struggling with the reps, you want to have a conventional stance so you can hitch. If you go sumo, you won't be able to hitch.
