2 grams of Protein per Kilo or per Pound of body weight

Ive read many sources claiming that you should eat 1-2 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight, and many others that claim that you should take 1-2 grams of protein per kilo of bodyweight....

Wich is correct ratio?

I think most people grossly overestimate their protein requirements. No matter how many grams of protein you eat, your body can only grow so fast.

400g of protein a day is not a quick way to the promised land.

Most days I eat around 250g, and I grow just fine on it.

Usually 1 lb of protein per lb of bodyweight is sufficient but some folks want more so 1.5 grams per lb is acceptable as well.

I aim for 1 gram of protein per pound I weigh(170lbs) but I'm usually over 200 grams of protein a day.

My average shake has over 50-60 grams of protein(1.5-2 scoops, fat free milk, peanut butter). 2 of those a day plus a scoop of casein before bed along with all the food is usually easily over 200 grams.

Basically dont worry about the exact amount of protein. Just eat protein rich foods and get 2-3 shakes in and you will pack on the muscle as good as any other way.

people who eat 2+ grams of protein per lb of bodyweight usually just makes it unbearable to stand in the same room with them without a great ventilation system in place.

lol, its such a noticable smell too. Whenever I smell that in a crowded place I automatically look for the biggest guy in sight and just assume it was him.

So that would be about 2.5 grams of protein per kilo... or 1 gram of protein per pound...

Thanks guys
